Sensitive Skin
Due to the nature of our creams we feel that everything in our range is suitable for sensitive skin. Depending on the type or reason for your skin's sensitivity we recommend that you patch test all products before you use them. Every ingredient is listed alongside each product we sell apart from our Essential Oil Blends. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further queries.
- To patch test creams, lotions, oils, scrubs and soaps.
- Essential oils should be diluted with carrier oil first, for adults dilute 2 drops essential oil with 5ml carrier oil.
- Testing is usually done on the inner part of your arm or wrist. Face products are usually tested on your neck area.
- Make sure the testing area is clean.
- Apply a small amount of the product to your testing area. Leave it for 24 hours do not wash it off (or get it wet in any way).
- Monitor the spot to see if any irritation occurs, rashes, redness and soreness, stinging or swelling on the spot.
- If you experience any reaction, gently wash the product off with mild soap and water. If a more serious reaction occurs, see your doctor.
- If you do not experience any reaction such as itching, redness or swelling, after 48 hours, the product should be safe for you to use.
Yes, sadly. Viola Organics New Zealand is registered to the Special CChem-website and has researched formulations created by other manufacturers. The large majority use around 80% water then build from there. Compare this to smaller boutique and organic manufacturers who use on average less than 20% water.
Parabens are a collection of synthetic chemicals used as preservatives and anti-bacterial ingredients in a huge number of skincare products. Research has proved they are dangerous for many reasons but mainly disrupting hormones, causing irritations and being found accumulated in cancer tumors’.
A. Our range (bicarbonate and roll-on) is designed as deodorants only, not antiperspirants. It is not deemed healthy to block the pores to avoid perspiration and this can only be achieved with the use of synthetic chemicals.
It is possible you are applying too much moisturizer. Our creams are very concentrated and only need to be applied sparingly. Also, we recommend the use of a toner to remove any build-up and clear the pores, which may help prevent this.
There are many providers of Palm Oil who do not destroy Rain forest to grow their crops. Viola only purchases Fair Trade and Organic Certified Palm Oil. We can guarantee these suppliers are both Rain Forest Alliance certified and are assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of RSPO Principals & Criteria (2007) for Sustainable Palm Oil Production - Columbia. Palm oil is a wonderful skincare ingredient and we will continue to use it so long as it meets these guidelines.
There appears to be an over-use of the terms ‘organic’, ‘ natural’, ‘ eco-friendly’ and ‘green’ these days. It can be very confusing to understand just what is in a product. Don’t rely on the label to tell you a product is safe, ALWAYS read the ingredients list on the back.
Natural and Organic may still mean synthetic or unsafe ingredients. Organic Certified means that the end product/ingredient has been processed without coming into contact with any synthetic chemicals from start to finish (from the ground to the jar).
No. Organic Certification means that our inclusion of any ingredient must meet strict guidelines. NANO particles are not permitted and neither is GMO.
